Last Day Nick D.

Write a reflection of the last 2 weeks.
the lst 2 weeks of intersession have been AWESOME!!!! We have cut wood with mitre saws, painted for hours, constructed and played in our final products. These 2 weeks have been the most fun every in school. The first day of intersesion we cought up on fractions learning to find the area and perimeter of objects. This first day cought us all up so we would know what we were doing and we would know the math we were going to do. The ceo of the high tech village came in and tought us some basics about carpentery, the grain, what it is, how to use it, and some other stuff. Then after that we started learning how to use a regular handheld saw whoch was so excahsting. That first day was one of the most boring but important days in interssesion. The next day our wood came everybody was so excited (me as well) but when we looked at the pile of wood most of us thoguht how are we going to build with this little wood. But then we sorted the wood out and the little pile of wood turned into a big pile of wood. We did some more math lessons and started measuring the wood which would help us at our measuring skills and our precicness in our measurments. When we measured all of us got better at measuring and better at being percice. The next day everbody was excited because we were going to use the mitre saws ( yes!!!) everbody was excited. We went inside learned what we had to do went outside and started measuring the distances at which we were going to cut. That day was one of the most fun days in intersesesion because on that day each person in their crew got to cut 4-6 times with these huge mitre saws which were so fun but each person had to be serious becaus ewe were dealing with a machine that could chop of your hand fast. That day we cut everything except a few boards. The next day we finnished cutting and started painting which at first was fun but then turned out to be the worst job in the world. We had to paint so many pieces of wood and by the end of today we didn't even finnish. But the fun thing was that at 12:00 we played gaga inside which was so fun since i had not played ever. that game is the best game ever invented. Friday we finnished up painting which still took up most of the day. After we finnished painting (we had to wait till the next day before everything was painted) we picked out a spot to place the gaga pit. Which we later found out we could not put their. After the wekend we came back and we were going to start the construction of the gaga pit. After doing some touch up painting we picked the new spot for the gaga pit and layed down the plat forms. After we layed down the platfor and tweacked it so it was perfect, which took a while we started puting another piece of wood on the platform to give it extra support. When we were screwing we got to use power drills which are soooooo much easeir then hammers. By the end of that day we most of the studs up and some wood on the studs and one of the big yellow pieces of plywood nailed in. the next day (Teusday) we put up the rest of the studs ( which were fun to drill) and then we put more wood on top of the studs to give the gaga pit more stability and we put 2 more layers of wood which took a lot of teamwork because we had to have 2 people helping someone screw something in. We then started putting on the plywood till the end of the day and we finnished. We got to play a little game of gaga the next mornign which was fun. We then started seeing if anything was messed up we unscrewed and rescwered till everything was perfect which was grueling work. We then put the final touches and painted our names on it. Today we got to pplay at lunch and all the other kids got to see our final product which was awesome!!! these 2 weeks have been fantastic. I have learned so much more carpentry then i have ever known.
